The Centre for Primary Care Research at De Montfort University (DMU) brings together DMU academics and Willows Health primary care clinicians to improve patient care. This unique and comprehensive perspective enables the Centre to tackle socially relevant issues in health inequality through a mixture of research and practice.
By addressing the root causes of health inequality and improving access to quality care, the Centre is committed to helping communities lead healthier, more independent lives.
The centre has committed to the following priority research themes which are interconnected to addressing health inequalities throughout a person’s lifespan. These research aims are broad, intricate and encompass wider determinants of health. The themes can be adjusted as necessary and further themes can be added that fit in with our strategy.
This groundbreaking collaboration is dedicated to revolutionising primary care in Leicester and Leicestershire. By combining academic research with hands-on clinical expertise, the Centre focuses on real-world patient needs, ensuring that health interventions, practice, and policy are informed by cutting-edge research.
